Well, it’s the last day of the month again, meaning it’s time for me to give out the Supawstars Spotlight Award once again!
Yet again, I’ll be giving away the award to 5 pet bloggers I think definitely deserve to have the spotlight shone their way! This month in particular, though, I’ll be giving this award away to two sites that I cannot believe I have still yet to give the award away to!
I actually was shocked when I looked back to realize the first two blogs on this list haven’t been featured yet at all by me, in any of my blog award posts! A massive oversight on my part, because they’re not only incredible blogs, but I’ve known about them for plenty long enough to have featured them (been following them nearly since I began KittyClysm)!
The only excuse I have for not featuring them sooner is that could have sworn I already did! It’s obviously time to rectify this situation, so #1 and #2 on this list – you should know that I’m so sorry I haven’t featured you before – I thought I’d given you the Spotlight Award already!

5 Pet Bloggers I Think Are Doing a Pawesome Job!
1. Athena Cat Goddess
Rambled about it in the intro but in case you skip those (I do sometimes) I CANNOT BELIEVE I HAVE NOT GIVEN THE ATHENA CAT GODDESS BLOG AN AWARD YET. One of the sweetest cat blogs in existence, you just can’t resist Athena’s charm. This cat has a look that slays and a mom who’s daym good at showcasing this cute kitty’s enormous purrsonality! Even if the post is just a few short sentences!
Absolutely adore how it’s possible for posts to get political and still be ridiculous levels of sassy cute! Only on this blog! 😉
2. Eastside Cats
Yet again, a blog I cannot believe I haven’t given this award to yet!! It’s ridiculous since I’ve known about the Eastside Cats blog for long enough, and only overlooked it the last couple times I gave away the Spotlight Award because I could’ve sworn I featured this blog before. Apologies and here’s the award now to rectify this situation!
Stories about both indoor and outdoor cats from Eastside Cats. Tales of Chuck and Angel, and Sweetie and Patty O’Malley.
This blog I’m a little torn about giving the award away to right now, because the family is going through a sensitive time with the loss of Chuck. On the one hand, I feel it’s bad timing to give out the award now, but on the other, I feel like the loss of a pet is a massively important thing to draw attention to – as it is (to me) the loss of a family member, something those who are not pet people rarely understand. I also think it’s important for pet parents to support each other during these times of incredible hardship, and so I’d like to encourage you to give your condolences to the family on this post.
I’m not going to lie, some of the most beautiful, heart-wrenching posts I have ever read have been posted on this blog after Chuck’s passing. From the simple yet elegant explanation of Angel and Chuck’s relationship with one another: “She and Chuck were together for their entire lives…even in utero!” to a very poignant depiction of the little parts of your day that are just not as full without one of your darlings around, “How strange it is now to only dish out one plate of food, and to not look for him in his favorite napping hidey-holes” in this post, as a pet parent, I can’t help but choke back tears a bit and hold my own cat close to appreciate his still being here with me.
The post about practicing the tradition of bardo, which I had no idea about previous to this post, nearly tore my heart in two thinking about the family and Angel in particular. Please go wish them condolences now.
3. Jan’s Funny Farm
Full of warm, happy, and heartwarming stories, Jan’s Funny Farm is where you might go after a long day at work to get a smile on your face in an instant. This particular story is one of my recent favourites. Hilarious, entertaining, and so incredibly relatable, it’s hard not to fall in love with posts like these when you have descriptions like this one about a furry house visitor: “The times when Marcus would go hysterical because he was about to go for a walk, or eat, or go outside to play fetch, he would wake her up and she would eventually give one high-pitched yelp that to Jan sounded very much like “SHUT UP”!
Absolutely the cutest! A must visit in my opinion.
4. Marg’s Animals
Cuteness overload! It’s impossible to be bored browsing this blog. From oh-so-many gorgeous cats (not sure I’ve seen a prettier one in life than this little one) to those, I’ll be honest I’m obsessed with, super adorable donkeys! This blog is like chocolate to a chocoholic for people who love pets.
Even the shortest, sweetest updates are full of such perfectly candid shots (oh and way-too-many of super cute cat snuggles for me not to melt!), it’s like this blog could single-handedly sustain a pet addiction with a short visit each day! Personally, I can’t get enough of Marg’s Animals!
5. Momma Kat and Her Bear Cat
Momma Kat and Her Bear Cat posts, to me, read like they come straight out of a comic book! Crazy interesting to read through, and if you take a peek at any one of her posts (this is a great one, for instance!) I’m pretty sure you’ll see straight away what I mean! You definitely get the story element with the perfect visuals in such a cool package, it’s hard for me not to recommend taking a minute to browse through some of Momma Kat and Her Bear Cat’s posts!
You can tell a lot of hard work and dedication goes into each blog entry: from shooting really expressive and poignant pictures, to scripting the story, to tightly and neatly cropping the images into the perfect bite-sized representations of the text. It’s just great, and so nicely polished, from start to finish!
