Hi there! My name is Elise and this a picture of me with my cool, calm, collected, gentleman of a cat, Avery:

And here’s a picture of Thomas holding our more recent addition to the family, our half-Persian, half-tabby, feisty-yet-friendly fluffball, Bjorn:

There’s Athos as well –

All three of our furries are stray/feral cats from around our neighbourhood. They chose us rather than the other way around. Curious about their stories? You can read Avery’s here, and Bjorn’s here.
When I first started up KittyClysm, Thomas and I only had Avery. I was (and still am) obsessed with cats, so I figured I might as well start up a blog exclusively about them.
I already had a million and one blogs I was looking after before I starting this one, but I figured, with the way things were going on my personal blog with me flooding the site with posts about cats all the time, I might as well move some of those posts over to a separate blog just about kitties; at least that was my line of thinking when I started this site.
A lot of what I post on here are things no one besides other cat owners will appreciate: pet care & healthcare advice, training tips, reviews of cat toys and litter, my experiences with the cat furniture and litter boxes I’ve bought – things like that.
The rest are posts I feel all cat lovers, whether they’ve got cats or not, will be interested in browsing through. Facts about felines, stories about cats, photo dump roundups of kitties in exceptionally cute “poses;” things I’ve always enjoyed looking at, sharing, and writing, though I’d gotten to the point where I needed to house these posts somewhere besides my personal blog, since it became dangerously close to being completely overrun by pictures of Avery.
To be fair, I still post a lot about him (and now the other cats well) on there, though less, definitely, less! I’m an addict, what can I say 😉
So that’s why this blog is here and a little bit about what it’s like. Now off to clean a litter box…
