I’m a huge fan of irony. I’ve seen quite a lot of “funny pet name” articles floating around the net, and while most of them are chalked full of wonderfully entertaining pet name suggestions, I feel they’re often a little thin in the ironic-humour department.
For those who need a little English-class refresher on what irony is: it’s when you describe something as the opposite of what it really is. An example would be walking into a very messy room and saying something along the lines of, “Wow! Couldn’t be cleaner in here.”
I apologize in advance if some (or many!) of these aren’t the funniest and fall a little flat, I did my best! Please do come to my rescue with some of your own suggestions in the comments below!

My friend’s cat’s name is Taco. What’s great about this name is that Taco Cat is a palindrome — pronounced the same way reading from front to back and back to front.

I have had a cat named Mouse and one named Guppy. I had one named PITA (for pain in the ass) and one named Puck because he would get on the kitchen floor and slide like a hockey puck!

We have a ginger cat named Cornflake and a grey cat called Mouse.

Those are amazing names! 🙂 I love the idea of a grey cat named “Mouse” so much I’ve added your cat’s name to this article, and to the one I’ve got up on grey cat names. Will also be adding Cornflake when I have a ginger cat name article up – that’s too good!

My cat’s name is Moose. =) It fits his personality thought, because he’s a little shy.

G’aww! 🙂 Adorable!

We had a gray Tabby named Squirrel. Fit him though. He loved to climb and perch on the top of the cat tree. He’d also run around the house, up and down the furniture.

That is way too cute. Love it when names match a pet’s personality.
